When everyone else in the office is running out for fast food or ordering sandwiches, it can be hard to imagine keeping up with your Paleo lifestyle at work. We’re here to help! Here are some tips to keep you going from morning to dusk, the Paleo way:
Start with a hearty breakfast.
If you arrive to work hungry, there may be more of a chance you’ll give in to that group pizza order at 11:00, or sneak a trip to the vending machine. It’s so important to start your day with a protein-rich breakfast. Have a few extra minutes before hitting the road? Whip up some scrambled eggs and veggies or Paleo pancakes (you can order Paleo Pancake Mix online here). Need something quick? Throw some Paleo Cereal in a bowel with almond milk and chow down!
Make yourself a mini Paleo smorgasboard.
Assemble a quick variety of ready-to-eat Pale-friendly foods like salami, sliced meats, a hard-boiled egg, avocado, cucumber, and tomatoes. This grouping provides lots of various textures and tastes to keep your lunch interesting!
Put that microwave to work.
Do you know that you can microwave a sweet potato in three minutes? Just poke some holes in the spud with a fork, wrap it in a paper towel, and tell Frank in Accounting to be patience while he waits to zap his Lean Cuisine. Top the potato with last night’s leftover chicken and veggies and you’ll have a power-packed lunch to get you through the afternoon!
Create a mini pantry.
Grab a few cans of tuna or salmon, and a jar of capers or olives, and store them in a desk drawer or- even better- in the staff kitchen cabinets. Whip up a quick salad the night before and bring it to work along with a hard-boiled egg. Top the salad with your pantry item, and it’s like eating a fancy lunch in a French Bistro…without the travel fees!
Treat yourself to an afternoon snack.
Don’t most people have a goody drawer at work? We sure do! Keep on hand nuts, dried fruit, and of course Paleo Balls from Evolve Paleo Pantry.
